The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

I was recently tagged for the Next Big Thing Blog Hop by Rob Pruneda, where I get to talk about my newest WIP. Here's how it works:

If I tagged you, use this format. Include an introduction to your interview post and a link to the person who tagged you to participate. Answer the ten questions about your current WIP. Include some pictures if possible. Tag five other writers/bloggers by sending them an email and then add their links to the end of your interview post. Their answers should go up the week after. Here goes my responses!

1. What is the working title of your book?
The working title of my current book is Agent J: Countdown to Terror.

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
When I was 8, I wrote my first spy story: Agent J. It revolved around a bank robber turned CIA agent because of his skills. I am completely rewriting the story from scratch, but with the same basic idea.

3. What genre does your book fall under?
Young Adult Spy ans Espionage Action Adventure--if you want to get specific.

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I think Christian Bale would play the main character Jack well, Samuel L. Jackson as the CIA director Sam, Mark Wahlberg as Davidson, Brad Pitt as Brad, and some new actors as the characters Adam and Nick.

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A bank robber/weapons dealer turned-CIA-agent battles a British terrorist determined to destroy America by any means necessary.

6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self-Published, but I actually might consider sending this to a small press of sorts.

7. How long did it take to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I'm not done, but it will take a few months to finish. I am looking at an early summer (2013) release.

8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
A James Bond novel or movie. It's very fast paced and relies on the villain to nitpick at the main character. The best relationship analogy I can give between Jack and the villain Smith is Batman and the Joker. Smith wants someone to stop him, to watch him succeed in his horror. He needs Jack. He is vital to the story, and I am having a lot of fun creating his character because I appreciate a good villain.

9. Who or what inspired you to write this book?
Originally it was my dad, but at this point in time it is to have fun and share my work with others.

10. What else about your book might peak the reader’s interest?
It has my most recent writing in it, and I believe it will be my first full length novel, and probably my best yet. Because I'm so young, I keep getting better and better at writing, so with each novel release you can expect something with a higher quality.
