Having a Hobby Away From Your Work

I believe that having a hobby away from work is very important. For some it's model trains, others it's video gaming, etc. For me, it's drumming.

I got interested in drumming when I first started listening to rock music when I was 6 or 7. When I was 9 or 10, we set up an old electric drum kit in our house, and I drummed to songs for a couple years, until the drums stopped working as well and we had to put the kit away.

Recently, my grandma brought my dad's old acoustic drum set over, and it's been set up in our house and I've picked up drumming again. Having a hobby is a great thing, and I really enjoy drumming because it is an escape from stress and writing projects, which I consider work. Below is a video link to a drum cover I did for Van Halen's new song "She's the Woman."

  1. Awesome video. For me I paint and quilt. There are days when you have to let your other creative side out so that you can refresh yourself to write.

  2. That's exactly how I feel. I also love TV because it can inspire you to get back in your writing groove. Burn Notice especially does this for me.

  3. The most beneficial portion of an electronic drum when compared more than a conventional drum can be in which, the item enable you to make various other feels like your keyboard, classical guitar, and many others.
