Why I Chose Self-Publishing

Self publishing doesn't mean bad, it is actually one of the smartest decisions an author can make. Otherwise you might spend a lot of money to get rejected by a publishing company. With self publishing you are able to be an author for free. There are books you read on kindle that you would've never known were self published. I am a kid so there would have been no way a company would take a look at me and publish my book. Also, I don't have the money to do that. I have spent $11 total during this process. That was ordering proof copies from CreateSpace. If you're thinking, Well self publishing means I will never get a paperback copy of my book, then you're wrong. You can have a nice paperback available on Amazon  for as low as a proof copy of your book costs you. Self publishing allows you to publish your book to several retailers for free too. Kindle Direct Publishing and Barnes & Nobles PubIt allow you to make your book available to their reading devices, which thousands of people read on!
You can also market yourself for free too. Having a Google+, Facebook and Twitter will allow you to market yourself and sell your book to followers. Dream Big and for more on Free Marketing, check out my post. Self publishing is great and I will continue to do it for as long as I can. It is free, fast and easy.

  1. Hi, Spencer! I just checked out your book at amazon--sounds great! I added a couple of tags--you might want to add more. Are you on the Kindle discussion boards? If so, I'll look for you there. Good luck with your book!
